First year computing science
A view widely held by parents, pupils and employers is that young people should know about and have the practical skills to use computers in everyday life. Information and Communication Technology allows young people to extend their knowledge of computing through theory and practical work. It encourages development of practical skills using computers which has become increasingly important in most areas of employment.
What's in the course?
Building your computer skills
We start the year by giving you your computer and Glow login information. We then practice typing and mouse skills by playing different skill games that will allow you to improve. These can be practiced at home as well using the links below. We will also develop our thinking skills by learning how to accurately search the internet to find information. An important skill you will use throughout your time in the school.

Building your Coding skills |
Coding is such an important skill to have for Computing Science. It is a massive job industry that is constantly looking for new employees. Not only that, you will develop your problem solving skills, your computational thinking and your ability to break problems down in to small manageable steps that can be used all over the school.
