Third year computing science
In third year Computing Science you will get to go into more detail with all of the topics you loved in first year and second year. You will continue to learn how to create websites for sharing information, creating more complex programs using text instead of blocks and furthering your understanding of how the computer works.

Programming using the BBc micro:bit and Livecode
We start the year by giving you your computer and Glow login information. We then practice typing and mouse skills by playing different skill games that will allow you to improve. These can be practiced at home as well using the links below. We will also develop our thinking skills by learning how to accurately search the internet to find information. An important skill you will use throughout your time in the school.

A database is a structured file that is used to store information that is used in all levels of industry. These allow you to develop your problem solving skills by designing and creating databases to fit a variety of needs.
This will be done using Microsoft Access and you will get the opportunity to create SQL which will allow you to search, modify and create data to be stored in the database. |

You will learn all about Binary which is the language of the computer, file types and why they are used, how data is sent around the computer and how instructions are carried out
